The Ramsey massive at Dukinfield
No comfort or joy for Ramsey and Vagabonds
In Counties 3 ADM Lancs/Cheshire both Isle of Man sides suffered defeats. Ramsey lost 26-8 away at Dukinfield while Vagas hosted league leaders Bury and lost 43-21.
At Dukinfield it took Ramsey twenty minutes to run the travel out of their legs, unfortunately during those minutes Dukinfield racked up four tries. Mike Connole picked up one and there was a hat trick from centre Jarrod Ward. Scrum half and man of the match Johnny Sculthorpe kicked three conversions meaning Ramsey were chasing a 26-0 deficit. A Dan Kelly penalty on the half hour saw the teams turn around with Dukinfield 26-3 ahead.
Ramsey had started to dominate possession and territory in the run-up to half time and this continued after the break. Ten minutes into the second half it finally paid off and replacement Euan Harmer bagged his first of the season. The Dukinfield defence was however made of stern stuff and they parked the proverbial bus for the rest of the game and saw out two yellow cards in the closing stages to deny Ramsey any further score.
