The reds opened their account in the Manx Trophy with a 32-12 win away at Southern Nomads' Field of Dreams. Tries from Dave Keenan, Danny Howard (on debut) and Dan Richmond, plus two Richmond conversions, gave the lads a 19-7 half time lead. Richmond added two penalties in the second half to extend the advantage and Connor Cracknell's late try, also converted by Richmond, secured the try bonus point.
