In the other Manx Cup game Ramsey beat Douglas Celts 53-20 at Port-e-Chee. Tries from Dan Richmond, Dan Bonwick and Brandon Atchison plus two Richmond conversions saw Ramsey race into a 19-0 lead after quarter of an hour. Douglas were however very competitive and in the twenty third minute they hit back when Nick Cain dived in from close range after Ramsey had conceded a string of penalties. From the restart Douglas skipper Conor McCaughan made a half break and his offload found Connor Casey in space and he raced in from fifty metres to reduce the lead to 19-10.
In the final ten minutes of the first half Ramsey struck twice to restore their advantage. Bonwick took the ball into the Celts’ twenty two. Conor Goodall crashed for the line but was stopped just short, but when the ball was recycled, youngster Ross Quayle strolled in for a try on his first team debut. Then in the final play of the half, Goodall squeezed over wide on the right to leave Ramsey 29-10 ahead at the break.
Bonwick ran in his second of the game just after half time, which Richmond converted. Douglas however remained competitive and Brendan Kelly bagged their third wide on the right to keep his side just in touch at 36-15. In the final twenty minutes though Ramsey ran in three more to remove any doubt. Jake Richmond dribbled in for the first and the last two were both from chips ahead. Bonwick fired a grubber through and Brandon Atchison won the footrace to it for his second of the game and Dan Richmond also bagged his brace following up another Bonwick kick. In between all this Ian Alfred went in for Douglas’ fourth try which gave them a try bonus point.
